We figure that everyone in the car hobby has at least one bit of advice worth sharing, so here it goes. Unfortunately we can't vouch for the validity of this advice but any advice has got to be better than none, right?
Buying a Car

Never buy a car without seeing it. - If you can't see it how do you know it's actually there.

Always ask for a title or proof of ownership. - Proof of ownership is very important, especially if the seller uses a screwdriver to start the car.

Determine a fair price an pay it. - A fair price also should include that amount of money you will need to purchase your significant other gifts to make up for the money pit you just dove into.

Be careful when buying a project car - There a many reasons to avoid purchasing a project car and one good reason for it. Not one of us who have purchased project cars can seem to remember that good reason, but once we do, we'll let you know.

Restoration

Organization is very important - Being organized is very important to a sucessful restoration. Keep all you money in order of small bills to large. This way when you run out of small bills at the begining of your project you still have the larger bills to spend to get your car done.

Original versus modified - There seems to always be an interest in varying a car from it's original design. The only time this should be done is when you determine that you want to do it even though everybody is telling you not to.

Mechanics

Finding a good one - You know what they say about a good mechanic. Good, we don't have to tell you.

Never smoke in a club member's fresh restoration.
